Over the course of my jewelry career, on an at-need basis, I have worked with the Odyssey Marine Research Company. They are an amazing group of people who seek to bring to light the very fabric of world history through shipwreck research and recovery.
While using state-of-the-art technology to explore the great depths of our oceans, they also strive to preserve the ecological integrity of the sea floor and use archeologically sensitive methods of retrieval of artifacts. They are very Artist-friendly and working with them is a joyful experience!
The following pieces are not available, but were commissioned by Odyssey as part of a Pirate event in Walt Disney World (May 2007).
Each piece has a description, in a prose form, with a photo and is signed by the Artist...it doubles as a Certificate of Authenticity for future references.

Global Commerce
Awash in a sea of red coral,
Three Silver, hand-hewn beads
Tell the story of travel and treasure.
The ship:
a noble craft, from the pennant to the water line.
The prize:
gems, finger bars, goblets, strands of pearls, specie.
All there for the taking.
The map of the world:
An oyster of discovery with the promise of adventure. |

Apparition of an Empire
Precious, lustrous pearls,
Sequenced with the flash of Labradorite.
Conjure misty mornings at sea.
Now ghosts from an age gone by,
Shine in the metallic memory,
Of coin from the insatiable quest.

 |
A Fool's Folly
Chain of silver,
entwined with bone.
Now Pearl, Peridot and Pyrite shone.
A touch of gold-
Both authentic and not.
Will leave you drunk with fever's rot.

Life Blood
Bound to the sea and sky.
Connected by continuity.
The dark of night,
The light of day.
The blur of blue in between.
Sinuous waves of silver and crystal
Weave fluid into flight.
The glistening juice of life.
